What's useful
- Deal records: investment memos, diligence findings, models and committee papers from closed deals.
- Credit files: underwriting analysis, covenants and monitoring for loans that have run their course.
- Portfolio reporting: periodic reports, valuations and outcomes over the life of each investment.
- Deals you passed on, with the reasons.
What qualifies
The listing is for investment firms of roughly 5 to 200 employees, such as private equity, venture, private credit and real estate investors.
What to check first
- Confidentiality agreements. NDAs signed with target companies, and confidentiality terms with portfolio companies and co-investors, often survive the deal. Check whether anonymised use is permitted.
- Investors' terms. Limited partnership agreements and side letters may restrict how fund information is used or disclosed.
- Inside information. Anything that could still be inside information about a listed company must not be disclosed. Your compliance team should clear the scope.
- Personal data. Credit files and diligence materials often contain individuals' financial details, which need removing or protecting.
What it's worth
Mercor lists potential company earnings of $50kâ$800k for investment firms, depending on what's in scope. That is Mercor's own figure, not a promise or guarantee from us.
Can company names be removed?
Usually, along with other identifying details. Discuss with the marketplace how much identification matters to the buyer and to you.
Do we need FCA approval?
Not usually for licensing data itself, but your compliance team should check it against your regulatory obligations.
