Privacy notice
Who we are, what we collect when you use this site, why, who we share it with, and your rights.
Who we are
Archive Introductions is run by Lawrence Software (a sole trader), which is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. We are an independent referrer: we introduce companies to Mercor, which runs a data-licensing marketplace. We are not part of Mercor, and we may earn a fee from Mercor if a company we introduce signs up.
Contact us about anything in this notice at hello@archiveintroductions.co.uk.
What we collect
- From the enquiry form: your name, company, role, work email, phone number (if you give it), your company's industry and approximate size, and a record that you ticked the consent box and when.
- When we correspond: anything you choose to tell us by email or phone.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps short-term server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run and secure the site.
- Analytics, only if you accept cookies: how the page is used, such as which buttons are clicked, how far down the page people scroll and whether the form is sent. We do not send your form answers that identify you (name, email, phone, company) to analytics.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Reviewing your enquiry and sharing your details with Mercor so Mercor can contact you about licensing your company's project data | Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given by ticking the box on the form |
| Replying to you and handling your questions | Your consent, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries |
| Keeping a minimal record of the introduction (your name, company, the date and that you consented) so we can reconcile any referral fee and show we had your consent | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) and legal obligations for business records (Article 6(1)(c)) |
| Protecting the form from spam and abuse (Turnstile) | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) in keeping the site secure |
| Site analytics | Your consent, given through the cookie banner |
We do not sell your data, use it for automated decisions about you, or send it to anyone other than the recipients below.
Who we share it with
- Mercor, only if you ticked the consent box. We pass on your details manually. Once Mercor has them, Mercor is responsible for its own use of them under its own privacy policy, which you can find at mercor.com. Mercor is based in the United States.
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts this website and passes form submissions on to us. It doesn't keep them.
- Sinch Mailjet SAS (Mailjet), which delivers each enquiry to us by email.
- Our email provider, where we receive enquiries and correspond with you.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (Turnstile), to protect the form from spam. It loads once you start filling in the form and checks technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address, to tell people from bots. It does not use cookies for this.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics), only if you accept analytics cookies.
International transfers
Mercor, Cloudflare and Google are based in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the UK. Where that happens we rely on UK-approved safeguards, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses. Ask us for details.
How long we keep it
- Enquiry details: we don't keep a database. Your enquiry is held only as an email in our inbox, and we delete it 12 months after our last contact with you, or sooner if you ask. Mailjet keeps its own delivery logs for a limited period under its policy.
- The minimal introduction record described above: up to 6 years after the end of the tax year it relates to, as needed for our accounts.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a short period, normally no more than 30 days.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or complete it;
- ask us to delete it;
- ask us to restrict or stop using it, or object to how we use it;
- ask for it in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew. If we have already passed your details to Mercor, we'll tell Mercor you've withdrawn, and you can also contact Mercor directly.
Email hello@archiveintroductions.co.uk to use any of these rights. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
We only use analytics cookies if you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner. "Reject all" is just as easy, and nothing from Google loads until you accept. You can change your mind at any time with (also in the footer of every page), or by clearing cookies in your browser.
