What's useful
- Imaging studies: CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound and similar, usually as DICOM files.
- The reports that go with them, linking images to findings.
- Diagnostic tests: ECGs, pathology and other results, with their interpretations.
- Follow-up outcomes, where you hold them.
What qualifies
The listing has no size limit: independent imaging centres and diagnostics providers of any size can qualify.
What to check first
Imaging data is health data, which is special category data under UK GDPR. Involve your data protection officer before anything is shared.
- Hidden identifiers. DICOM files carry patient details in their headers, and some images have names or dates burned into the pixels. Face and head scans can be reconstructed into recognisable images. Ask how each of these is handled.
- Reports. Free-text reports often mention names, dates and referrers, and need de-identifying too.
- NHS work. Scans done under NHS contracts are subject to those contracts and NHS data rules, which may rule them out. Privately funded work usually has more room.
- Equipment and software terms. Check that your PACS and reporting systems' terms allow exports for this purpose.
What it's worth
Mercor lists potential company earnings of $80k–$620k for imaging and diagnostics centres, depending on what's in scope. That is Mercor's own figure, not a promise or guarantee from us.
Do we need reports with every study?
Studies with reports are worth more, but say what you have. Image-only archives can still be of interest.
We're a small centre. Is that a problem?
No. This listing has no minimum size.
